A Study Of Chunshui And Qiushan Pattern About Porcelain Pillow Of Cizhou Kiln In The Jin Dynasty

The Jin Dynasty was the heyday of the development of Cizhou kiln’s decorative art,in which porcelain pillow decoration was the most abundant.There appeared many decorative patterns,For example,pattern of falcon attacking a rabbit,pattern of falcon attacking swan and wild goose,pattern of wild goose carrying a bulrush in its mouth,pattern of running deer and so on,The appearance of these patterns is closely related to the “Chunshui” and “Qiushan” activies beloved by the northern minorities.“Chunshui and Qiushan”subject matter was widely popular in this period as a traditional decorative pattern to show the hunting customs of the northern minorities and further penetrated into the decoration of porcelain pillows,enriching the decorative art of porcelain pillows of Cizhou Kiln in the Jin Dynasty.While these patterns are widely used in Cizhou kiln porcelain pillows,they also gradually extend richer cultural connotations.The pattern of “Chunshui and Qiushan” is also skillfully combined with the painting and decoration techniques of Cizhou kiln porcelain pillow,showing a more mature artistic charm,making it gradually become a classic decorative pattern handed down to later generations.By collecting a large number of literature and picture materials,this paper sorts out the picture source of the “Chunshui and Qiushan”subject matter,supplements the implied meaning of this subject matter,and reconstruct its development process.At the same time,this paper analyzes the development and evolution of the “Chunshui and Qiushan” subject matter in the porcelain pillow from three aspects of painting,decoration technology and modeling function of the porcelain pillow of Cizhou kiln in the Jin Dynasty.This paper expounds the reason why the theme of“Chunshui and Qiushan”subject matter appeared in the porcelain pillow of Cizhou kiln,and analyzes the changes of the artistic form after the combination of the theme of “Chunshui and Qiushan”subject matter and the implied meaning and cultural connotation extended,so as to enrich the understanding of the folk meaning of the theme of “Chunshui and Qiushan”subject matter.
