| Writing teaching is an indispensable part of high school English teaching,which is important obviously.However,many students do not know what to write,and their writings are very patterned.Their interest and achievement in writing need to be improved.The application of key English discipline competencies can stimulate students’ deeper thinking,ensure their central position in the classroom,and help students to solve problems in many ways.Based on key English discipline competencies,the study aims to solve the following research problems through action research.(1)What is the effect of writing teaching based on the key English discipline competencies on students’ interest in writing?(2)What is the effect of writing teaching based on the key English discipline competencies on students’ writing performance?In this study,a class of grade two in a senior high school in Shenyang was selected as the subjects to carry out the two rounds of action research for three months.Each round of action research lasted for six weeks,and consisted of four steps: To identify problems,make action plan,implement action plan,reflect and evaluate.The researcher adopted three different instruments,including questionnaires,interviews and tests.The results show that writing teaching based on the key English discipline competencies produces a positive result on improving students’ interest and performance in writing.The teaching helps students to construct ideas and improve their participation in class,thus their interest and achievement are enhanced. |
