Deductive Analysis Of The Excerpt "Flower For Victory" From The Opera "Struggles In An Ancient City"

Struggles in An Ancient City is a national opera based on the Anti-Japanese War and the "smell the fragrance of flowers when victory" is Jinhuan’s aria before he died,also known as the final aria.It describes the aria is Jinhuan’s yell,anger and hope that exist at the bottom of his heart before his righteous death.The author shows the underground workers’ heroism uncompromising revolutionary belief during Anti-Japanese War on the opera stage.This paper will combine with my own singing practice,from the stage image analysis,character personality,psychology,singing skills,image depiction and other aspects to make comprehensive analysis and comparison.The content of this study mainly includes:the expression significance and artistic treatment of the opera Struggles in An Ancient City and the analysis of the singing and performance of "Smell the Fragrance of Flowers when Victory";In the opera,the image building of Jinhuan and his inspiration to his own singing were comprehensively described from these aspects,so that he could get a deeper understanding in the singing and understanding of music.
