In the digital age,art fusion technology has become an inevitable trend of development.Digital tools are increasingly used and loved by more and more artists.For artists,digital tools are not just application software that is used to assist artists in designing.The emergence of digital tools has changed people’s perception of modern design itself,making people’s design ideas more open and inclusive,making art creation have new possibilities.As a new art form,installation art began in the 1960 s and has been developing ever since.It is one of the typical representatives of post-modern art.Installation art is currently the broadest and most comprehensive form of artistic expression in terms of theme selection,cultural orientation,technical means,and exhibition form and emotional communication.The Solid Free-form Fabrication is a molding method based on digital model files,using physical materials,and adding solids layer by layer.It is based on the development of digital science and technology.It is a brand-new artistic creation method combining scientific and technological rational thinking and artistic perceptual thinking.The Solid Free-form Fabrication has irreplaceable advantages,mainly reflected in the deep complexity of the physical manufacturing,high level of refinement,diverse materials,wide application range,fast production efficiency,low production cost,and can also meet individual needs.Therefore,the Solid Free-form Fabrication can be used to create art in installation art,so as to produce new forms of art.What is worth pondering is,after the Solid Free-form Fabrication is involved in installation art,what can it bring to installation art?
