This study is based on the perspective of Modern Family theory, focuses on the division of daily practice between Chinese and Japanese educational mothers through semi-structured qualitative interviews. On this basis, this paper tries to sum up the content and characteristics of the daily practice division between Chinese and Japanese mothers. The conclusion of this paper can be categorized into three points: the division of daily practice among Chinese educational mothers reflects the transformation from“Myth of 7-year-old children”to “Myth of 3-year-old children”,the segmentation of daily life and educational management, and the high evaluation of the educational mothers. In contrast, the characteristics of the daily practice division of daily practice of educational mothers in Japan are as follows: the overall management from daily life to educational management, the low evaluation of the image of educational mothers, and the emphasis on the cultivation of children’s daily etiquette norms.Through the above comparison,we can tell the biggest difference between the two educational mother’s are the segmentation of daily life and educational management. The distinct difference is influenced by the different development level of the modern family in Japan and China. In Japan, the modern family emerged during the period of high economic growth and became popular after 20 years of development. Therefore,“Personalizing child-rearing”in modern families, the regulation of“Intensive motherhood”and the inadequacy of the family child-care support network make Japanese educational mothers take on all the responsibilities of their children. In China, during the reforming of market economy, the development of economic modernization and the implementation of the one-child policy have rapidly brought our country from pre-modern family to modern family, which shows the characteristics of “Compressed modernity”.Therefore, facing the “Privatization of child-rearing”problem in modern families,Chinese educational mothers are able to rely on the parental support network provided by their parents in the pre-modern families to help with the physiological rearing of their children.
