Gold has received a lot of attention because of its currency properties and its application in many industrial fields.Heilongjiang has always been rich in gold and is an important gold producing area.In modern times,Japan has coveted Heilongjiang’s gold resources for a long time.Since the Japanese forces entered China, they have launched detailed large-scale investigations and resorted to various means to wildly plunder the gold resources in Heilongjiang. The investigation and plunder of gold resources in the Heilongjiang area by Japan in modern times is an important evidence for its occupation of Heilongjiang and China.In-depth research from this perspective will help reveal Japan’s colonial rule over the Heilongjiang area and Japanese aggressive ambitions. This article will mainly use multiple evidence and comparative research methods, through in-depth excavation of historical materials, especially rare archives of overseas treasures,to investigate the location, gold reserves, survey methods, mining methods, and gold production of gold resources in Heilongjiang in modern Japan.Issues such as the amount of money, business methods, and gold flow are discussed.Taking the September 18th incident into a time node, the modern Japanese investigation and plundering of gold resources in the Heilongjiang area was divided into two stages. The first stage was mainly based on extensive investigations, and the latter stage was mainly based on unscrupulous plunder.Using a large amount of historical facts to expose that Japan sent a large number of experts and scholars to conduct detailed investigations, used the pseudo-Manchurian regime and the "Manchurian" gold mining company to compulsorily occupy gold mining rights, and used brutal methods to uncontrolled and frantically mining.Issues such as monopolizing the sale of gold refute the beautifying rhetoric of Japanese right-wingers.The investigation and plundering of Heilongjiang’s gold resources in modern Japan helped it restore a "gold standard",improve its industrial system, and promote the rapid development of capitalism. However,it caused a large loss of Heilongjiang’s gold resources, hindered the development of Heilongjiang’s national industry, and persecuted China.Labor also destroyed the ecological environment in Heilongjiang, causing the development of Heilongjiang to lag behind.
