A Study Of Chen Ting’s Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua

Ting Chen was a famous poet and theorist in Ming dynasty.He had been writing for more than 40 years,leaving many brilliant chapters,and had made certain achievements in various fields.Among them,Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua embodies Ting Chen’s own ideas,and has unique opinions on the writing techniques,writing style,appreciation and evaluation of writing,which is the highest achievement and the most influential work,it is also the earliest theoretical work of CI poetry in the Ming dynasty.A comprehensive survey of the current academic research on Ting Chen and Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua shows that some considerable achievements have been made,but not all the contents of Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua have been covered,there is no systematic study on Ting Chen’s theory of poetry either.This paper,taking Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua as the research object,probes into Ting Chen’s view of poetry and the relationship between his creation and poetry theory,and takes this as a turning point to explore the basic situation of poetry study and creation in Ming dynasty.The thesis is divided into four parts: the introduction briefly describes the current research status of Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua,affirms its research value,and finds out the innovative points in its research.The first chapter begins with Ting Chen’s life experience and family background,puts Zhu Shan Tang Ci Hua under the background of Chinese Poetry history,and explores the historical context and cultural origin of his creation.In the second chapter,the author analyzes the thought of Ting Chen’s CI in Zhushantang Ci Hua.As far as the noumenon of poetry is concerned,Ting Chen had some new ideas in the aspects of “Character and character of poetry”,“Keeping history by Ci”and “Respecting style by following facts”,and as far as the style of CI is concerned,Ting Chen advocates the style of Ci which is implicit,subtle,graceful and magnanimous.As far as the creation of poetry is concerned,Ting Chen advocates that one should know how to use allusions,refine words and sentences,and pay attention to forming the core category of Ci.The third chapter discusses its theoretical value and historical limitation from positive and negative aspects.In the analysis of its theoretical value,it further involves the contrast between Ting Chen’s Ci and Ci theories,and the reasons for its historical limitations should also be considered from both subjective and objective aspects.
