| Stratified teaching is a teaching model which enables student-oriented teaching and learning to be implemented according to their abilities.In this model,teachers incorporate the learning characteristics of students at different levels and teach accordingly.Its role in teaching is recognized by more and more people.As an output skill,English writing puts forward higher requirements for the comprehensive English level.However,many high schools currently do not pay enough attention to the teaching of English writing,which leads to many problems in the teaching of English writing in high schools,and the teaching effect of teachers and the learning effect of students are not ideal.In this study,the author attempts to adopt stratified teaching in the practice of high school English writing teaching,with the aim of improving the effectiveness of English writing teaching in high school.This study follows recent development area,constructivism learning theory and humanism as the theoretical basis.36 students in the second grade of a high school in Harbin are selected as the research objects.The experiment method,observation method,questionnaire and interview are adopted to focus on experiment with the following three questions: First,how to design and implement stratified teaching in high school English writing teaching? Second,what influence does the application of the stratified teaching of English writing have on students’ writing learning effect?Third,what influence does the application of the stratified teaching of English writing have on students’ writing motivation?The whole teaching experiment lasts for nearly four months and is roughly divided into three stages,that is,the preparatory stage of the experiment,the implementation stage and the data collation and analysis stage after the experiment.In the experiment preparation stage,the author carries out four tasks: compiling the Students’ Writing Ability Self-evaluation Scale,stratifying students,designing the writing tasks and the teaching implementation procedures,and compiling the classroom observation scale.During the implementation stage,first,the author combines the answers of the Students’ Writing Ability Self-evaluation Scale and the students’ writing scores to stratify the students;second,follow the principles of the same content,the same progress and different requirements according to the previously designed English writing stratification teaching process to carry out teaching experiment.Upon completion of the teaching experiment,the data and materials collected during the experiment are collated and analyzed to draw conclusions from the teaching experiment.Through the teaching experiment and data analysis,this research has the following findings: Through this period of teaching experiment,the implementation process of stratified teaching in English writing teaching is summarized;the application of stratified teaching in English writing teaching can enhance students’ English writing learning effectiveness;the application of stratified teaching in English writing teaching can improve students’ English writing learning motivation.However,there are still shortcomings in this research,such as the limitation of the research objects,the relatively short experiment time,and the author lacks certain experience in foreign language teaching and experimental research. |
