From the emergence of the "Peep View" on the cover of the revised edition of Legend to the publication of the essay collection of Zhang Kan,"watching" has become an important way for Eileen Chang to construct the literary world and understand real life.New channel. The author tries to make in-depth research on the visual behavior in the text of Legend on the basis of current theoretical resources such as visuality and visual culture, and explore the hidden cultural psychological connotation behind the presentation of visual scenes. This article is separated into three parts. The first chapter distinguishes and analyzes the related concepts of "seeing",and combs the visual presence and the relevance between the subject and object in the text of Legend as a whole. The first is the interpretation of the concept of "visuality",which is different from the daily use of "seeing".It has a smaller scope and focuses on the visual behavior itself that has various power relationships, rather than the pure visual perception process. This process is still inseparable from the participation of brain consciousness and other sense organs,so it is ambiguous. Most of the detailed descriptions in literature are visual behaviors and visual scenes containing multiple behaviors, which are also the focus of this article.Secondly, through the display of the appendix, the author believes that the visual presence in The Legend is undoubtedly an important part of Zhang Ailing’s literary world. The third is the analysis of the theme of "seeing and being seen" in visual behaviors. The author indicates that the relevance between seeing and being seen is not the binary opposition in the previous use situation, but an interactive state. The seen object is the author’s concern the center of gravity, therefore, expands to the general state of individual survival in the "legendary" world through the display of relevant psychological behaviors of the watched person after seeing the scene being watched. The second part covers the second and third sections, which mainly analyze the way of visual sexual behavior and what you see.Mirroring and peeking,as the most common behaviors in the text,is a significant channel concatenating the individual and the external environment, and the individual and self desire.Through the display of different visual behaviors, the author fully presents the inner world of the characters. As for the content of what I see,the author starts with the individual and the environment, trying to explain what the individual sees through the vagueness of individual social positioning and the loss of individual emotional capacity;the decay of the living environment and the vagueness of the background of the times. The situation of self-existence,this kind of confusion constitutes a living experience that carries a sense of anxiety. The third part explores the cultural and psychological connotation of visual sexual behavior. The first is humanistic care.Eileen Chang places her concern for the individual in a contest with the environment. The continuous discipline and punishment of the environment imprison the individual, who is neither capable nor willing to resist, and can only be assimilated or destroyed. The repeated writing of the cruel survival truth of the shrinking self-will reflects the author’s deep care and insight into people and human nature. In addition, real daily life writing and sincere emotions are presented through the visual behaviors of characters. This consistent truth-seeking style not only creates images of many "real" people, but also enables Eileen Chang ’s works to last forever.
