With the development of Hunan’s economy,Hunan’s cultural tourism is in the ascendant.Cultural tourism is the key point for the provincial government to develop,and the quality of tourism text translation is also an important bridge to promote Hunan culture and Chinese culture to go abroad.Travel Guide to Hunan is composed of the introduction of five scenic spots in Hunan province,which belongs to the tourism text and has the profound value of spreading local characteristic culture.This thesis mainly discusses how to translate Travel Guide to Hunan under the guidance of Christiane Nord’s theory of "function plus loyalty",and gives the translation strategies and methods to deal with relevant problems in Travel Guide to Hunan.When translating architectural terms,the author refers to parallel texts,consults relevant materials and dictionary,so as to professionalize the translation and facilitate the understanding of the target language readers.This thesis discusses how to translate scenic spot names and place names,how to apply literal translation,transliteration and free translation.In addition,the culture-loaded words in the materials should be translated in accordance with the principles,such as name after an originating person,recognition through common practice and standard transliteration.The techniques in text translation are also mentioned,such as amplification,omission and word order transformation.Finally,the author summarizes the translation project and hopes that the summarized skills of Chinese-English translation of tourism translation can provide reference for the subsequent translation and promote the development of tourism lexical translation. |
