Traditional Chinese architecture is dominated by "timber frame",with a long history,distinctive features,and rich connotation.It is a rare "living fossil" for the study of Chinese culture.But for the research and protection of traditional buildings,official buildings such as palaces and altars and temples are more inclined.However,those distinctive and widely distributed residential buildings are disappearing from the eyes of the world at an alarming rate under the storms of history and the impact of modern civilization.Therefore,the research and protection of traditional residential buildings cannot be delayed.In Taihang mountain area,about 52.7 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang City,Hebei Province,there is Jingxing County,a county with a long history and rich cultural resources.Located at the junction of Shanxi and Hebei,it is an important traffic road.There are a large number of intact ancient villages in the territory.Among them,Daliangjiang Village,Yujia Village,Liangjia Village,Xiaolongwo Village,etc.are listed in the first batch of Chinese traditional villages.As one of the typical representatives,Daliangjiang Village has preserved a large number of unique features built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the "Republic of China" period.Characteristic residential buildings,whose architectural form is integrated with the architectural characteristics of "Hebei","Shanxi" and "Northern Shaanxi".The site selection and construction of the village reflects the ancient people’s construction idea of adapting to local conditions and harmony between nature and man,and unique layout Forms and decorative arts reflect the religious beliefs,folk customs,aesthetics and other cultural information of this region.In the long river of history,these ancient buildings seem to have been abandoned by people and gradually become dilapidated.Therefore,strengthening the research,protection and development of them has become an urgent matter.This is also an urgent need for strengthening national and cultural confidence in today’s society.On the basis of theoretical analysis,this article has collected and sorted out documents related to Jingxing County and Daliangjiang Village.At the same time,they went deep into the ancient village of Daliang River to conduct visits and investigations to increase their understanding and grasp of the actual local situation.In the process of investigation,we understand the needs of local residents and the status of existing residential houses,with a view to promoting local development in the context of protecting the local ancient villages and combining the local actual conditions and the vital interests of the villagers.At the same time,it is also expected to arouse villagers’ awareness and protection of traditional houses,and further promote the whole society’s attention to traditional houses.
