The ancient village is an organic combination of material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage in our country.How can we make it not lose the constructive significance of contemporary culture? How can it be given a worth protection in the modernization process? How to break through the gap between modern civilization and agricultural civilization,to rediscover the value of ancient villages,and to establish its protection strategy? These constitute the problems horizon of this topic.However,the present researches on the protection of ancient villages in China,the most important thing is to take economic development as a leading concept,to promote the protection of ancient villages’ own resources,and to evaluate the significance of the existence of ancient villages by economic value-added,and to make the cultural heritage of ancient village as a lever for modern economic growth.Secondly,it is guided by political preferences,and to use various indicators to maintain the significance of ancient village existence,which has triggered a long-term dependence on the government.In the end,the original inhabitants had a psychological appeal,either to move out of the village to get compensation,or to improve the living conditions,matching the modern architectural style.As a result,the phenomenon of “constructive destruction” and “hollowing out” in the protection of ancient villages has become increasingly serious.In fact,when we focus on the existence of ancient villages,we will find that the existence of ancient villages is not based on its economic value as its inherent prescriptiveness,but its historical and cultural aesthetic value as its inherent prescriptiveness.Obviously,the protection of something should be aimed at protecting its inherent prescriptiveness,otherwise it will lose its original intention of protection.Therefore,this topic seeks to explore the theory and practical strategies of protection of ancient villages in terms of aesthetic value.The whole research framework takes the ancient village of Banliang as an example,through the art empiricism as a theoretical tool,combined with artistic anthropology knowledge and social identity theory to reveal the significance of the existence of ancient villages,pointing out that the protection of ancient villages is not only based on material conditions,geographical environment,and culture Construction,but also based on the subject’s aesthetic consciousness.By way of a case-study,a field-study and an experience-study(namely reading-village),we clarify the aesthetic value of arts in ancient village,revealing what the ancient village holds value is not only economic,historical,but also aesthetic,because the aesthetic feeling is the real power connected to the world of real life.This reveals the important position and role of art cultural heritage in the protection of ancient village(called it a village art).It not only evokes the feasibility of art protection in ancient village,but also fully demonstrates the inherent prescriptiveness of ancient villages,avoiding the harmfulness caused by economic value-added.This article is divided into 6 chapters.The introductory part is a comparative study on the current situation and the main views of the protection of ancient villages at home and abroad.Chapters 1-2 focus on the cultural research of Banliang Ancient Village,and clarify the significance of the existence and protection of its artistic cultural heritage in historical oblivion.Chapter 3 gives an academic analysis and explanation of the problems presented in the current protection mechanism of Banliang Ancient Village,and establishes the aesthetic appeal in the protection theory.Chapters 4-5,the analysis path guided by art empiricism,combined with the knowledge of art anthropology and the theory of social identity,traced the aesthetic activity of ancient village art,and proposed the aesthetic-oriented ancient village protection theory of Banliang ancient village art and Practical significance.Chapter 6clarifies the status and role of art protection in ancient villages,and its universal significance for the expression of human civilization diversity.
