Effective teaching methods are one of the guarantee conditions for improving the effect of vocabulary teaching in English classroom teaching.In the research of English teaching practice,teachers apply natural spelling method to vocabulary teaching,with the purpose of further improving students’ spelling ability,so as to better classroom teaching according to students’ age characteristics and physical and mental development.Vocabulary is the basis of English learning.However,in traditional vocabulary teaching,teachers are generally the main body of teaching and the center of teaching activities.All teaching links are preset by teachers,and students only need to learn vocabulary in the way that teachers take reading as a whole.As a result,students often have low interest in learning,poor vocabulary memory,and poor teaching effects.Natural spelling is a new vocabulary teaching method based on attention hypothesis theory and constructivist learning theory.This teaching method emphasizes the importance of students and regards them as the main body of learning,and returns the initiative of the classroom to students.This research will apply natural spelling method to vocabulary teaching in the classroom,and discuss the following two questions.Question 1: To what extent is the impact of applying Natural Spelling Method to English Vocabulary Teaching in Primary School on the students’ attitude towards vocabulary learning?Question 2: Will applying Natural Spelling Method to English Vocabulary teaching in primary school improve students’ learning performance?This research mainly adopts the research methods of questionnaire survey and teaching experiment.By dividing students of the same level into experimental classes and controlled classes,the students and teachers of the experimental classes mainly use the natural spelling method for vocabulary teaching.For the controlled classes students,teachers still use conventional teaching methods to teach vocabulary.After a semester of experiments,the author uses a questionnaire at the end of the semester to compare the emotional attitudes of the two classes of students,revealing the effect of natural spelling method on the emotional attitudes of students’ learning.At the same time,the comparison of the changes in the English vocabulary spelling level of the two classes of students is tested in the form of English test papers,revealing the differences in the effects of natural spelling method and traditional vocabulary teaching methods on English vocabulary learning.Practical research on the effective use of natural spelling in primary school English vocabulary teaching proves that this method can give full play to teachers’ teaching resources and promote the further implementation of English curriculum reform.In addition,the teacher’s teaching methods have been expanded to stimulate students’ interest in learning English,promote students’ mastery of vocabulary spelling rules,and cultivate students’ awareness of lifelong learning.It can broaden the educational vision of English teachers,change educational concepts,and improve the awareness and abilities of English teachers in learning methods.It can also promote English curriculum reform and provide effective reference experience for classroom reform.
