Writing ability is a comprehensive skill to use language.At present,there are still some problems in the teaching of College English writing,such as the unreasonable arrangement of class hours,the heavy teaching tasks of teachers and the weak basics of students.Since the concept of national education informatization was put forward,blended learning mode has gradually come into our view.Since it combines the advantages of online learning and traditional classroom,this model provide a new path for English teaching.Micro-blog has been introduced into China since 2009,it provides a new teaching thinking for hybrid learning mode with its characteristics of microbiology,timeliness,cooperation,cross-platform communication,seamless connection technology and integration.More and more scholars have applied it to English teaching and achieved a lot of effect.Focusing on the feasibility and effectiveness of the mixed learning model based on micro-blog in the application of college English writing teaching,This study aims to explore the following two questions :(1)Compared with traditional writing teaching,if the blended learning model based on micro-blog can improve students’ English writing ability?(2)If the blended learning model based on micro-blog can stimulate students’ interest in English writing ?This study selects 100 non English majors Freshmen in M University(52 in the experimental class and 48 in the control class)as the research objects,and carries out a 16 week teaching experiment.During the experiment,the experimental class adopted the blended learning model based on micro-blog for English writing teaching,while the control class adopted the traditional writing teaching model.Used the methods of writing test,questionnaires and interviews,this study explores the impact of how the blended learning model based on micro-blog can effect the writing level and interest of non-English majors from both qualitative and quantitative aspects.The results show that blended learning model based on micro-blog is feasible in the teaching of college English writing.Meanwhile,the experimental results verify the hypothesis that the mixed learning mode based on micro-blog can improve the writing level of non-English majors and stimulate the writing interest of non-English majors.Based on this study,the author puts forward some suggestions on College English writing teaching from the aspects of teachers and students.Teachers should constantly update their education concepts,take into account the advantages of online platform and classroom teaching,make reasonable teaching plans and strategies,and conduct effective evaluation and feedback.Moreover,students should make rational use of the network platform,change their learning attitude and establish the awareness of active learning.
