Accompanied by the new curriculum reform,increasing numbers of people begin to attach great importance to the cultivation of pupils’ interest in English learning.The Ministry of Education stated that students must learn English from the third grade in elementary school.English is a second language for us,if we want to learn it well,interest certainly plays an important role.Under the impact of the new curriculum reform,the traditional teaching methods have gradually transformed.Using an entertaining and entertaining method in English class has increasingly become the trend of primary school English teaching methods.In recent years,this kind of teaching method,which promotes students’ learning knowledge and makes them happy,has injected new vitality into primary school English class.This teaching method is deeply loved by teachers and students.On the one hand,through the design of game teaching,teachers integrate teaching content with game activities to create real language situations for students in the classroom,so that the knowledge they have learned can be presented to students in a more vivid form,which is conducive to students’ learning.On the other hand,in the teaching process,adding game activities can adjust the classroom atmosphere and get the students’ attention.If they can learn knowledge easily and happily while playing,then their interest in English will gradually increase.Therefore,this teaching method is a good way to stimulate students’ interest in learning.The author studied existing studies and found that many teachers had a positive attitude to the Game Teaching Method.However,due to the limitation of various practical conditions,there are still some problems with use of game teaching,plenty of teachers think that games are just a tool to enlivening the atmosphere,and the role of game is not played in the class.As far as the problem to be studied in this research is concerned,the author defines the relevant concepts of Game and Game Teaching Method.This research takes the fifth and sixth grade senior students and the English teachers at X primary School in N city as the objects of investigation,trying to explore a method that can integrate Game Teaching Method with English classes,to help more English teachers to use it correctly.The research methods are questionnaire survey,interview,and action research.After two rounds of teaching practice,the author found that by using this teaching method in primary school English classes,both teachers’ teaching skills and students’ learning ways can be developed accordingly,and the overall quality of teaching can also be improved to a certain extent.Meanwhile,there are also some shortcomings.For example,during the game,students will become very excited because of participating in the game,there will be chaotic in the classroom,and teachers will spend time to rectify the classroom discipline,which would affect the teaching progress of the whole class;in terms of game design,because teachers lack relevant theoretical knowledge,the form of the game is single,which will reduce the enthusiasm of students to participate in the game.In response to these problems,the author has carried out corresponding reflections,hoping that through reflections,it can promote the better development of Game Teaching Method theory,at the same time,it also provides a reference to better use Game Teaching Method in future teaching for English teachers.
