Art was born in ancient Greece.The original intention of art was to make invisible things visible and hide invisible truth in art.When art becomes an approach for human beings to pursue reason and truth,it ascends to a metaphysical height and keeps pace with philosophy.There comes philosophy of art.Jewish philosopher Benjamin’s philosophy of art came into being in the development process of modern technology.He linked a practical factor,technology,with art for dialectic analysis,so as to reach the “Kingdom of the Messiah”,which he had shunned in his heart.His reflections on art all originated from his pursuit of reason and truth.While regretting the disappearance of “aura” of traditional art,Benjamin captured the progressive role of modern reproduction art in the art field from a unique and acute perspective.As for the truth hidden in modern reproduction art,Benjamin hoped that the Messiah would bring the God’s will of redemption to mankind.It is exactly because of Benjamin’s dialectical attitude towards art that the possibility of research and analysis is left.First of all,taking the theoretical origin of Benjamin’s philosophical thoughts as the logical starting point,survival crisis and art crisis that Benjamin went through are analyzed,and the historical background and theoretical origin of Benjamin’s philosophy of art are also explored.Based on a systematic review of the transformation of artists’ identities,technological progress in art productivity,the decline of creativity of artworks and the changes in art consumption mode in the production process of modern reproduction art,the transformation of each production link in Benjamin’s art production theory is expounded by comparing with traditional art.Secondly,the aesthetics of traditional art and modern art are compared.The generation and disappearance of “aura” as aesthetic consciousness of traditional art,the generation and transformation of aesthetic value of art,and the generation and transformation of “shock” as aesthetic consciousness of modern art are systematically discussed.Besides,the development and changes of aesthetic consciousness of traditional art and the present aesthetic situation of modern art since the emergence of mechanical reproduction technology are analyzed concretely.Thirdly,taking the redemption theory of Benjamin’s philosophy of art as the logical end,the inner influence of the Messiah on Benjamin’s philosophy of art as the source of his redemption theory is elaborated.It is also expounded that art provided salvation path for the Kingdom of the Messiah advocated by Benjamin,and that Benjamin had a vision of humanity,art and the world returning to the Messiah.Lastly,in the contemporary era of science and intelligence,the unique charm,theoretical value and practical significance of Benjamin’s philosophy of art are explored.Through drawing on and carrying forward the positive influences and reasonable factors of Benjamin’s philosophy of art,the realistic inspiration left by Benjamin’s philosophy of art is proposed.
