A Study On The Image Of Father In Yu Hua’s Novels

Yu Hua is one of the most important writers in Contemporary Chinese literature.In the 1980 s,he stood in the literary world with a pioneering attitude of innovation and change;After 1990 s,he showed people the thickness and tenacity of life in a simple narrative way close to the folk.In his more than 30 years of creative career,Yu Hua always insists on writing the image of his father.His father’s image is not unchangeable,but changes with the change of Yuhua’s creative style.This paper takes the image of the father in Yu Hua’s novels as the research object,uses the theories of literary psychology and narratology,adopts the methods of text reading,induction and comparative analysis to present the evolving image of the father,focusing on the analysis of the reasons for the changes in the image of the father and the ways of narration in shaping the father,in order to explore the value and significance of the image of father in Yu Hua’s novels.This paper consists of the following five parts:The first part,introduction.This paper summarizes the research status of Yuhua’s novels from four aspects: the theme connotation,the characters,the novel language and the novel style,and briefly summarizes the research methods,innovations and research significance.The second part is the presentation of the evolution of father’s image in Yu Hua’s novels.The image of father in Yu Hua’s novels is classified and shows the evolution of the image.The image of father in Yu Hua’s novels can be divided into two stages: the deconstruction of the image of evil father and the reconstruction of the image of good father.The third part is the narrative way of the evolution of father image in Yu Hua’s novels.This paper discusses from two parts: narrative perspective and narrative language.From omniscient narration to limited narration,from indifference narration to warmth narration,Yu Hua shows different narrative methods in the two stages of creation,and uses different narrative methods to create different father images.The fourth part is the reason of the evolution of the father image in Yu Hua’s novels.One is personal experience,including childhood experience and Cultural Revolution memory,medical experience and family building;The second is the influence of external factors,including foreign modern writers,literary environment and the background of the times.Third,the writer’s thought and artistic exploration.Including the different pursuits of reality in the previous and later periods.The fifth part,the value and significance of the image of father in Yu Hua’s novels.It is mainly analyzed from two aspects: first,the deep humanistic care embodied in Yu Hua’s novels;second,no matter how the times change,Yu Hua insists on his original intention of creation,and dares to break through and innovate.The last part is the conclusion.This paper reviews the discussion of the image of father in Yu Hua’s novels as a whole,and summarizes the value and significance of the image of father in Yu Hua’s novels.Yu Hua shows his insight and understanding of the world and life through shaping the image of his father,reflects the author’s thinking of civilization and order,family ethics and the whole society,and looks forward to the future with warmth.
