The opera,Yimeng Mountain,won the "Five One Project" award for the 15 th promotion of spiritual civilization in August 2019.As a newly-created opera,it takes the anti-Japanese war as the main line,based on the revolutionary history where the army of the Party and civilians in Yimengshan Revolutionary Base went through thick and thin together.It tells the story of the heroine,Haitang,and other main characters,who dared to sacrifice,firm in revolution and united in ant-Japanese war in the national crisis and personal destiny.The opera,Yimeng Mountain,has actively explored the development of national operas with its practice and innovation.It shows the revolutionary spirits of the Yimeng people,including courage,love and righteousness,and has successfully created the vivid hero images of the soldiers and civilians in Yimeng.It has become the paean to heroes of Yimeng spirits of the Yimeng’s profound history and culture.There are six acts in the opera,Yimeng Mountain,with Wang Xiaoling and Li Wenxu writing lyrics and Luan Kai writing the composition.In terms of the plot,the figure of Haitang who was fortitudinous and tenacious is gradually and clearly presented by her main arias,including Waiting for Me,My Dear,Between the Mountains and Waters,Heaven Keeping Your Eyes Open.In terms of the form of music creation,it drew on the forms of traditional folk music with the utilities of harmony,accompaniment,choir,chorus and orchestra.As a result,it not only has enriched the emotional levels of the arias in the opera,but also has integrated the essence of Baoqiang style of operas in order to highlight the artistic appeal and dramatic tension of the national opera.Waiting for Me,My Dear is set as the theme aria of the opera,Yimeng Mountain,with the sincere and affectionate lyrics,the simple and clear structure and the melodious and gentle melody.It tells the pure and deep love of the protagonist,Haitang,and Lin Sheng.As the main melody throughout the opera,this aria not only conforms to the figure of the character in the plot,but also has more profound meanings beyond the specific scenes.This is the particularity given by the songwriters to this aria.Between the Mountains and Waters has the most charm of Shandong folk songd in all the arias of Haitang.The composer,Luan Kai,used the Banqiang style of operas for creation with fast and frequent changes and the combination of folk music and local opera tones.It has achieved a good balance between music development and drama structure.Heaven Keeping Your Eyes Open is the core aria of Haitang and the outbreak of the contradictions in the whole opera.With the complex melody structure,the internal conflicts and emotional changes of the characters are synchronized with the plot of the opera,so that the figure of Haitang who was fortitudinous and tenacious is ultimately shaped.
