Research On The Application Of Negative Space In Layout Design In Binding Art

Layout design in binding art,as an important component of aesthetics,covers a wide range of fields.It is involved in book binding,magazine cover,posters and other related designs.With the continuous progress and improvement in the design field,the expression forms in format design tend to be diversified.It has two natures of conveying information and artistic expression.The process of layout design is the process of expressing content,which achieves its purpose by integrating layout visual language.A single visual element has no substantial meaning in format design.Negative space,as a kind of design element,interacts with other design elements in format design to enhance the level of layout,enhance the spatial flexibility of layout and create a comfortable reading atmosphere.In the current layout design industry,there are some related problems,such as the layout order is not strong,the information is not conveyed in place,and the user’s visual experience is too tired.The fundamental reason is that the negative space is not fully understood and used rationally.This article will interpret the important role played by negative space in format design from the following three aspects: design principles to be followed in format design,the manifestation and rational use of negative space,and the aesthetic characteristics and visual psychology of users.Combined with the diversity and adjustability of negative space itself,the more humanized design requirements of negative space are summarized.This paper uses the methods of case study and literature study to analyze the expression and significance of negative space in format design.The purpose of this article is how to make negative space more easily reflected in format design,which not only enables format designers to better express content and emotion,but also promotes users’ reading interest and strengthens one of the channels for users to communicate with designers.
