Research On CAI Family In Song City Of Northern Song Dynasty

The CAI family in Song cheng(now shangqiu city,henan province)was a representative family that started with the imperial examination in the northern song dynasty.Its achievements mainly focus on the political,rising in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty,belongs to the new clan.The political activities of the family members were mainly in the three dynasties of Renzong,Yingzong and Shenzong.Among the family members,the first generation is the lower-middle class officials,mainly played a foundation-laying role.Since CAI Kang,CAI Ting as the representative of the second generation of developers,CAI Kang for the old yingzong qiandi,the recognition of Yingzong;CAI Ting,an official and a deputy,took part in important historical events such as the western Xia and The Reform of Wang Anshi.The third generation of family members represented by CAI Ye and CAI Tianqiu were officials in the Dynasty,but their positions were relatively low,and their influence on the continuation of the family was no longer as great as that of their parents.By the fourth generation,although they had a large number of children,they did not do much in politics.Whether they held official posts or not is now impossible to verify.Only a few members’ deeds are recorded in the existing historical records,and most of them are achievements in literature.By the fifth generation,the family members were basically no longer there,so the CAI family disappeared.According to historical materials,the whole development course of the CAI family can be verified.Mainly from four aspects of the first examination of the inheritance of the CAI family line.Secondly,in the process of studying the CAI family,the author focuses on the political activities of CAI Kang,CAI Ting,CAI Ye and other representatives of CAI family.Thirdly,it analyzes the marriage and friends of the CAI family members.The marriage and friends of the CAI family can reflect the rise and fall of the CAI family to some extent.Finally,this paper analyzes the reasons for the decline of the Family style of CAI Family.A good family style is conducive to the prosperity and continuation of the Family,such as serving the country with loyalty,putting filial piety first,and paying attention to Confucian classics can provide stronger support for the continuation of the family,etc.,but many factors lead to the gradual decline of the Family.From the above aspects,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the CAI family in Song City,which can increase the case study of the small family in the Northern Song Dynasty.By observing the development course of the CAI family from its rise to its decline,we can find that there were many such families in the Northern Song Dynasty that went throughhardships to the peak of the family but suddenly became weak,and the CAI family was one of them.The imperial examination became a crucial point for the development of this kind of family.Later,due to various reasons,the imperial examination eventually declined,and the occurrence rate of large families in the Song Dynasty decreased.On the other hand,the number of small families gradually rose.These were closely related to the political,economic and cultural environment at that time.The rise and fall of the CAI family can reflect the great changes in the Song Dynasty.
