The Influence Of Emotional Priming On Helping Behavior Of High And Low Trait Anxiety Patients

Helping behavior plays a vital role in social development and human survival,while emotion is always felt and has an important influence on helping behavior.At present,more and more scholars begin to explore the influence of unconscious emotions,namely subliminal emotions,on people’s cognition and behavior.Subliminal emotions can cause more instinctive biological responses of individuals.Therefore,the research on the influence of subliminal emotions on helping behaviors can better clarify the influence of emotions on helping behaviors.Personality traits affect the intensity and duration of an individual’s emotional experience,and they have certain effects on helping behaviors.Trait anxiety,as a kind of personality trait,is accompanied by individual long-term and consistent emotional experience,which is implicit and different to some extent.In order to explore the types of emotions and emotional way of trait anxiety is helping behavior and the effect of high school students as subjects of this study,using the image start way to induce subjects mood,use a situation to help test to measure participants’ helping behavior,with trait anxiety(high trait anxiety,low trait anxiety),emotional type(positive and negative)and start the way(on the threshold of start,subthreshold)as the independent variable,for 2 x 2 x 2 experimental design to explore the mood to start the influence on high and low trait anxiety are helping behavior.The experimental results are as follows:(1)the main effect of subjects’ categories is significant.There is a significant difference between those with high trait anxiety and those with low trait anxiety in helping behavior test,and those with low trait anxiety have a higher helping behavior.(2)The main effect of emotion type is significant,and the influence of positive emotion and negative emotion on the helping behavior of the subjects is significantly different,and the helping behavior of the subjects under positive emotion is higher.(3)The interaction between subjects’ categories and emotional types was significant.Compared with negative emotions,those with high trait anxiety and those with low trait anxiety had higher helping behaviors under positive emotions.Compared with those with high trait anxiety,those with low trait anxiety had higher helping behaviors in negative emotions.Based on the above results,the conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Whether the trait anxiety level is high or low,positive emotions will increase the helpfulness behavior of the subjects.(2)Negative emotions had a greater influence on the helping behaviors of those with high trait anxiety.Under negative emotions,the helping behaviors of those with low trait anxiety were higher than those with high trait anxiety.(3)There was no difference between the above threshold and the below threshold priming on the effect of helping behavior in high and low trait anxiety.
