| Vocabulary is the foundation of language learning.Without vocabulary,there will be no sentence and no sentence can be expressed.Vocabulary teaching is also an important part of English teaching.Mastering a certain amount of vocabulary is the basis of learning English.Vocabulary learning plays an important role in senior high school English learning.If the problem of vocabulary learning is not solved,then English performance will not be greatly improved.The New Curriculum Standard for Senior High School(2017 Edition)points out that it is required to master 3000-3200 words in the compulsory stage of senior high school.Most of the traditional English vocabulary teaching courses are taught by teachers,and students learn and recite English vocabulary by themselves after class.However,in the border minority areas,students’ English foundation is weak,their interest in English learning is not high,and the effect of learning and memorizing English vocabulary is not good.Therefore,it is particularly important for teachers to use some strategies and methods to help students memorize words effectively,to diversify the methods of word memorizing,to stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning words,to reduce the burden of students’ memory of words,and to improve their learning efficiency.In recent years,there are numerous researches on the effectiveness of vocabulary memory.With the rapid development of social science and technology,in the educational fields,the e-learning system supported by big data has attracted the attention of researchers and practitioners in many aspects.No matter from the theoretical level or the practice level,they are developing rapidly and playing an increasingly important role in the teaching research and teaching practice.On the one hand,we can use vocabulary software to learn and memorize vocabulary and use big data provided by the software to find relevant links,diagnose existing problems,predict development trend.It plays an important role in many aspects including improvingteaching quality,promoting fairness in education,realizing individualized learning,optimizing allocation of resources and so on.On the other hand,teachers can use the data provided by the software to have an insight into the level and needs of students and create more opportunities to stimulate students’ interest,and guide students to dig into massive and valuable corpus.This study,which is based on multimodal theory,forgetting rules and vocabulary memory strategies,explores the effect of "Quizii" word memory software on vocabulary learning of senior high school students in ethnic areas.The subjects of the experiment are 110 students from Class 3 and 4,Senior One,Shilin Yi Autonomous County No.1 Middle School.Class 3 are the experimental subjects,using " Quizii" software to memorize vocabulary,while class 4 is the control class using traditional methods to memorize vocabulary.After the experiment,the target vocabulary will be tested and the test results will be analyzed.The results show that the experimental subjects who used the software to memorize vocabulary,have a higher average score than the control group,especially in the word interpretation and spelling.The analysis of the results of this study shows that using "Quizii" software can improve students’ interest in memorizing vocabulary and improve students’ ability in interpretation and spelling of words.However,teachers should pay more attention to word formation and the comprehensive use of vocabulary. |
