Nowadays,the popular culture focused by people,forms in the process of modernization,is selected as the main part of urban public,is characterized by fashion and fashion,entertainment is treated as the basic function and is spread by mass media.Because fashion involves all areas of social life,it can change our life way.It is not sure that the popular ideas,behaviors and objects are emerging,which some have been popular previously,and some have not been accepted by the mainstream society and the public,but are attracted by certain groups of class and influential people through some channels,and then are used and known people.In the past decade,with the increasing popularity and development of new Internet media,the network world is unprecedented diversity and no-boundary.As the main user of the Internet age,young people win the free and open spiritual world provided by the network media.Vaporwave art is risen sharply due to the above reasons,came into being in the early of 2010 s,which is a form of music and visual art movement being popular on the Internet and the reminiscence and respect to the artistic style of the 1980 s.The cyberpunk is the origin of vaporwave visual art.The vaporwave design style combines the technology and reminiscence,illuminates the magical visual style by pinkish purple and baby blue and expresses the young people’s new feelings towards the retro culture.This paper,"Application research of vaporwave art in popular posters",takes the study of the vaporwave style of the popular art as an example,researches the application in poster design,mainly introduces the representative cases of vaporwave art,analyzes and explores the influence of popular culture on the modern poster design and practices in this design.This paper mainly analyzes the formation of the vaporwave art style from various angles and compares and summaries it with the representative culture of the other two popular cultures: pop art style and Memphis art style.Analyze the aesthetic characteristics from some related works,extract the main visual elements and aesthetic value of art,and apply them to the final design works.Nowadays,it is not formed the systematic theory and explanation about this visual art style and is a lack of systematic and theoretical research.Most of the data are from fragmentary materials on the Internet.Therefore,the designer’s personal material library is better accumulated by analysis of this visual art style.As a result,the design works are more diversified,better conform to contemporary aesthetic and young people’s interest and organically fuse with the major.Therefore,the study of vaporwave art not only has high value,but also can improve the vision of visual designers.
