With the China’s rapid economic development and the deepening trend of globalization, the implementation of the “going out” strategy for excellent Chinese culture and Chinese enterprises has further promoted relevant companies to participate in international business competition and cooperation.Translation, especially written translation, has become the main content of China’s foreign cooperation and trade.A large number of plans and contracts need to be internationalized and localized, providing MTI candidates more opportunities of practice as well as greater challenges. The Chinese-English translation material of this report is selected from a translation assignment the author took on during her internship. The project plan is a document that specifies quality measures, resources and sequence of activities for the Great Paris Express project. The purpose is to help foreign customers further understand the company’s product quality system and deepen further cooperation. This report chooses equivalent translation theory and relevance translation theory as guidance, and analyzed the text to study the translation methods of business plan from the aspects of vocabulary and syntax.Equivalent translation holds that the translator is to produce as nearly as possible the same effect on readers as was produced on the readers of the original. In addition, relevance translation theory holds that translators need to accurately understand the communicative intention of the original author, consider the cognitive environment of the target text readers, and seek the optimal relevance between the discourses. The two theories complement each other.Practice has proved that equivalent translation theory and relevance translation theory can effectively guide the translation of business plans.Through this report, the author aims at improving her translation skill and providing some references for the translation of relevant business plans.
