This translation practice report is based on a translation task titled Tissue-resident memory T cells in tissue homeostasis, persistent infection, and cancer surveillance from Immunological Reviews. The task focuses on the role of tissue-resident memory T cells,a subset of T cells,in the human body. This translation report aims to explore solutions to the difficulties in the medical translation practice,so as to gain insight into the approaches for better translation of medical articles. This report analyzes the difficulties in medical literature translation from the perspectives of terminology, sentence, and paragraph, and provides possible solutions to them through case analyses. This report suggests that terms unavailable in dictionaries can be translated with the help of search engines coupled with appropriate search queries;long and complicated sentences can be translated through reorganization and nominalized structures through adding words, both under the guidance of the Skopos theory;target text can be revised according to thematic progression pattern to promote intratextual coherence. The author hopes that this translation practice report can provide reference,if any,for future medical translation studies.
