Literary Criticism From The Perspective Of Technology Utopia

As a contemporary form of utopian imagination,technological utopia has exerted a profound influence on literature and literary criticism.This paper focuses on the characteristics of technological utopia and its literature and critical practice,and explores the process of "Alliance"between technology and Utopia,as well as the challenge and transformation it brings to literary criticism.This paper is mainly devoted to answering two questions:one is how technology and utopia "Alliance",the other is what kind of change technology utopia brings to contemporary literary criticism.The full text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is "The discrimination and clarification of the concept",combing the three core concepts of Utopia,technology and technological utopia.The second chapter is "The formation and contemporary forms of technological utopia",focusing on how technology and utopia through literary narrative and "allied.".The third is"Literary criticism from the perspective of technological utopia",which discusses the influence of technological utopia on literary criticism from three aspects:the relationship between literature and science and technology,internal factors,external factors and critical practice.The first chapter explains utopia from the origin of its name,the change of its connotation and the form of its expression,revealing that the connotation of Utopia has experienced a dimension from space to time,from utopia to dystopia,and summed up the three manifestations of Utopia.As for "Technology",it is analyzed from etymology,technology theory and interpretation,and it reveals three dimensions of technology interpretation:human,knowledge and world.Finally,the concept of technological utopia is traced and discerned,and defined as a complex social space or network system that changes with historical development,is dominated by technology,and encompasses multiple factors such as people,politics,culture,and capital.The second chapter focuses on the alliance between technology and Utopia.First,it distinguishes two types of literature expression,namely,utopian literature and sci-fi literature,and then analyzes the technology and utopia in these two types of literature,it reveals that technology has experienced a transformation from a positive image to a negative one in the text.In addition,technology plays an important role in supporting the narrative structure,shaping the typical environment and foil the characters in the narrative text.Finally,a brief introduction to E-topia and its literary expressions as well as the characteristics of the two digital technologies is presented.The third chapter discusses the influence of technological utopia on contemporary literary criticism.The first part traces the relationship between science and Technology and literature,and points out the participation of capital in the relationship between technology and literature.At the same time,it summarizes the three characteristics of art works in the Digital Age:instant perfect reproduction,"shock" appreciation experience,gamification and interactivity.The second part discusses the influence of digital technology on literary criticism from three aspects.First of all,from the micro-level,the thesis describes the changes of the three groups of literary elements in the technological utopia Secondly,from the macro-level,it discusses the transformation of literary criticism from three angles:subject,media and mechanism.Third,it introduces the application of virtual realism and Cyberspace in the practice of literary criticism.The conclusion of this paper is that the technological utopia represented by digital technology is reshaping the whole reality,and it is changing the mode of existence,boundary,type and characteristics of literary activities.Technological Utopia reactivates the discussion of internal and external studies of literature and brings about the reconstruction of literary space and the transformation of the media and mechanism of literary criticism.It not only changes the whole literary criticism ecology,but also promotes the transformation of the critical theory in the digital age.
