| In recent years,with the introduction and development of positive psychology in the field of second language acquisition,more and more scholars have begun paying more attention to the individual happiness of second language learners.Enjoyment is the core element of individual happiness,which has attracted attention in the field of applied linguistics.Many scholars have conducted research on foreign language enjoyment,but domestic research is still in its infancy.The level of Chinese middle school students’ foreign language enjoyment is still unclear.The impact of foreign language enjoyment on academic achievement,and the relationship between foreign language enjoyment and other important factors in foreign language learning need to be clarified.In view of this,this study formulated foreign language enjoyment scale,foreign language autonomous learning ability scale and foreign language learning self-efficacy scale,based on the existing research findings of foreign language enjoyment at home and abroad and combined with the actual condition of Chinese middle school students’ learning situation.Then,412 middle school students were selected as subjects to explore the current situation of Chinese middle school students’ foreign language enjoyment and analyze the impact of foreign language enjoyment on learners’ foreign language autonomous learning ability and foreign language learning self-efficacy through questionnaire and interview.Through quantitative and qualitative analysis,the study found that: 1)Chinese middle school students’ foreign language enjoyment is generally on a moderately middle level;among the three dimensions of foreign language enjoyment(FLE-Private,FLE-Teacher and FLE-Atmosphere),the means of FLE-Teacher has reached a high level,but the means of FLE-Private and FLE-Atmosphere are both in the lower-middle level;2)The foreign language enjoyment between males and females is relatively close;on the average foreign language enjoyment,females are slightly higher than males,but the difference is not significant;3)There are significant differences in the overall foreign language enjoyment of students with different English proficiency levels,specifically,there are significant differences in FLE-Private;4)FLE-Private,FLE-Teacher and FLE-Atmosphere are significantly related to the five factors of foreign language autonomous learning ability;concretely,FLE-Private and FLE-Atmosphere have a strong predictive ability for foreign language autonomous learning ability;5)FLE-Private,FLE-Teacher and FLE-Atmosphere are significantly related to the two factors of foreign language learning self-efficacy;FLE-Private and FLE-Atmosphere have a strong predictive ability on foreign language learning self-efficacy.Based on this,the research finally suggests that English teachers should strive to create a pleasant learning environment in teaching,and enhance learners’ FLE-Private and FLE-Atmosphere,in order to promote the development of learners’ foreign language autonomous learning ability and foreign language learning self-efficacy. |
