| Reflective learning has a long history.Many educators have emphasized that learners should reflect on learning since Chun Qiu Dynasty.Reflective learning is an important topic in today’s educational research and an important direction of the new curriculum reform.Students are required to learn English on themselves and improve their ability to learn English reflectively by English Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education.Developmental Psychology holds that the psychological development of middle school students of grade three is at the end of the second stage of psychological development(social self)and the beginning of the third stage of psychological development(psychological self).The stage of middle school students of grade three is an important one to develop English reflective learning.Quality Education emphasizes that students should have a strong spirit of independent inquiry,reflection spirit,good adaptability and pioneering spirit.Students should learn to reflect and how to learn.Lifelong Education advocates teaching should be led by teachers and students as the main body.Teachers should guide students to explore independently.Students may enhance the spirit of innovation and enterprising.What’s more,students must improve independent learning and reflect on learning ability for lifelong education to lay the foundation.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen middle school students of grade three to carry out English reflective learning.In order to explore the current situation of English reflective learning for middle school students of grade three,this paper attempts to discuss the following research questions:(1)What is the overall status situation on English reflective learning for middle school students of grade three?(2)What are the problems in English reflective learning for middle school students of grade three?(3)How to improve the English reflective learning ability for middle school students of grade three?The study selects middle school students of grade three of X Middle School of Maoming City,Guangdong Province as the research subjects.A total of 130 middle school students of grade three are asked to answer the questionnaire.Furthermore,8 students and 5 teachers are interviewed.The research tools used in this study are questionnaire and interview.The questionnaire and interview are divided "English reflective learning" into three dimensions:reflection awareness,reflection habit and reflection skill.Based on this,the questionnaire that is on the current situation of English reflective learning for middle school students of grade three,the outline of interviews that is for middle school students of grade three and the outline of interviews is for middle school teachers of grade three have been compiled.Through the analysis results,the paper summarizes the overall situation and problems of English reflective learning on middle school students of grade three.And it puts forward targeted improvement measures according to the existing problems.Based on the above research,this paper mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)Subjects’ overall status situation of English reflective learning is general.Subjects have a certain sense of reflection,while reflection habits are unstable and reflective skills need to be strengthened.(2)Subjects’ English reflective learning ability is at a medium level overall.Subjects’ connotation and significance of English reflective learning are not deep enough and systematic.(3)Subjects can’t be persistent in the behavior of reflective learning.There is a lack of reflective strategies in the outline and summary reflection.Subjects’ knowledge framework reflective skills need to be strengthened.(4)Cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies help to improve the subjects’ ability to learn reflectively. |
