A Study On Sound Changes Of Rusheng Words In Lianyungang Dialect

Rusheng in Lianyungang dialect is in the last stage of retaining Rusheng,which is characterized by relaxed,self-classification and the disappearance of throat plug.Under the frequent contact with Mandarin,there are many sound changes of Rusheng words in Lianyungang dialect.This paper takes Rusheng words in Lianyungang dialect as the main research object,analyzes the way how they change,and explores the internal and external factors of language that affect their sound change with sociolinguistic variation theory.This paper is divided into five chapters.Part I:Introduction,mainly describes the research overview of this paper.Firstly,a brief introduction of Lianyungang City and its dialect is made,so as to defines the research object of this paper,then introduces the domestic and foreign research overview of related topics,and explains the purpose and significance of the topic.At last,the research contents,methods and sources of corpus are introduced.Part II:Investigation design.Firstly,according to research object,determines the data needed for dialect investigation.Secondly,designes questionnaire based on sociolinguistic theories,including the table for investigation and respondents,which correspond to the internal and external factors of language.Finally,introduces the method of data analysis.Part III:Investigation on the phonetic changes of the Rusheng words in Lianyungang dialect.Based on the actual phonetic of Rusheng words in local dialect,this paper determines its phonetic system,forms the table of Rusheng words with homophone and sorts out the types of its sound change.And then the direction and the method of sound change also be analyzed in combination with the existing theories.It is found that,through the internal adjustment of the phonetic system,some Rusheng words in Lianyungang dialect change their sounds.Replaced by the same or similar phonetic types in the local dialect phonetic system,Rusheng words are mainly to get closer to Mandarin.However,there are some exceptions.The internal adjustment of the phonetic system can lead to the change of the syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations in the original dialect phonetic system.Part IV:Data analysis.Based on the data obtained from the questionnaire,this chapter analyzes the internal and external factors of language that may affect the sound change of Rusheng words in Lianyungang dialect.Data shows that the finals of Rusheng words,frequency and"attention to speech" among internal factors,as well as age,gender,educational background,social class,linguistic proficiency,linguistic use and linguistic attitude among external factors,have obvious restrictive effects on the sound change of Rusheng words.In addition,it is found that residents in Lianyungang generally have a positive rational attitude toward Mandarin.Part V:Conclusion.This chapter summarizes the problems discussed in this paper,points out the shortcomings of the research,and puts forward the prospect.
