Hong Liangji was a well-known poet and poetic critic in Qianlong and Jiaqing period.His "Beijiang Poetry Notes" formed a more comprehensive poetic thoughts system.This article takes Hong Liangji’s poetry and "Beijiang Poetry Notes" as the research object,comprehensively uses the research methods of philology,the history of literary thought,and the history of literary criticism to study Hong Liangji’s poetry creation and poetic thoughts.The first chapter discusses Hong Liangji’s creation origins and poetry tradition.Hong Liangji valued Li Bai and Su Shi,he had similarities with them in terms of spiritual temperament and relegation experience.Hong Liangji admired Bai Juyi,Han Yu,and Du Fu,and imitated them in his creative practice.Hong Liangji praised Tao Yuanming and Xie Lingyun.He expressed his yearning for Tao Yuanming’s character and ideal life and he also paid attention to learning Xie Lingyun’s skills in tracing landscapes.The second chapter discusses Hong Liangji’s poetry creation and communication.Hong Liangji maintained a good friendship with Changzhou poets,shogunate literati,spiritual poets,etc.,and social interaction had an important influence on Hong Liangji’s character,academics and thoughts.Hong Liangji’s admiration of "True Temperament"and "Practical Application" was inseparable from the influence of his friends.The contacts of shogunate literati made Hong Liangji begin to pay attention to academic research,which was of great significance to the formation of Hong Liangji’s poetic thoughts.The third chapter discusses Hong Liangji’s poetic taste and aesthetic tendency.Hong Liangji revealed his own temperament in the poems,and he tended to "The chant is based on temperament".Hong Liangji used "Three Hundred Articles" as a model,and he expressed his preference in the poetry of "Going to the Ancient Times".This was not only related to Hong Liangji’s understanding of the Confucian spirit,but also influenced by the fashion of the times.Hong Liangji pursued "singularity contains rationality" and put the standard of "singularity" above "excellence".This was a compromise between his dual identities as poet and scholar.The fourth chapter discusses Hong Liangji’s poetic concepts and poetic standard.Hong Liangji uphold the poetic history concept of "poetry descends with the times".He revealed the performance of this poetic history concept in terms of poetry content,artistic techniques,social functions and aesthetic connotations.Hong Liangji insisted on the notion that poetry should "see temperament,knowledge,and character".He believed that poetry creation should be based on history and literacy.Hong Liangji adopted the poetic standard of "poems have their own strengths".He believed that the condition for a poet to become outstanding was to "use his strengths" and he followed the poem principle of"taking his own strengths according to his strengths".Hong Liangji’s poetry creation and poetic thoughts are interlinked.Through the cross-study of Hong Liangji’s poetry creation and poetic thoughts,we can see Hong Liangji’s response to the times and the history of poetry.
