| With the rapid spread and aggravation of the COVID-19 epidemic since the beginning of 2020,most countries in the world have had to implement school closures.Concerning this,a new education trend has emerged to avoid gatherings and learn through online resources at home.In March 2020,the Indonesian Ministry of Education announced that the school would stop in-person teaching and implement a Study From Home(SFH)policy in order to prevent students from gathering and potentially being infected with COVID-19.Malang is one of the famous city that attracts tourists and is an educational town in eastern Indonesia.In recent years,Chinese language education has developed rapidly in Malang,Indonesia.This city has famous universities such as The State University of Malang,Brawijaya University,and Ma Chung University.All these universities offer Chinese majors and have good reputations.The author,as an Indonesian student who is interested in pursuing Chinese language education in the future,in the context of the "Study From Home" policy("SFH")launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture,will use the online Chinese teaching situation of The State University of Malang,Brawijaya University,and Ma Chung University in Malang as the research subject.Through a questionnaire survey of teachers and students majoring in Chinese in these three universities,we can understand the overall situation of online Chinese teaching among college students in Malang.Through SPSS data analysis and statistics collected from interview results,this article will analyze the basic situation of students’online learning,the basic situation of teachers’ online teaching,the use of online teaching materials,online course curriculum settings,online Chinese teaching facilities and technical support.According to the survey results,the current online Chinese teaching in these three universities has been going well,and the established goals are well fulfilled.Of course,there are also problems such as the relatively lagging internet connectivity in Indonesia,the lack of self-discipline from students while in online classes,aspects of the teachers’ technology and classroom management that can be strengthened,and existing material that is difficult to fully flesh out through online teaching.In response to the existing problems,this article will propose corresponding development strategies.This article is divided into four chapters to investigate and research the current situation of online Chinese teaching in three universities in Malang.The following is the content arrangement of each chapter:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly includes the purpose and significance of the research,the overview of the research status,and the research methods.The second chapter is an overview of online Chinese teaching in Indonesia,including an introduction to Indonesia’s online learning policy,an overview of online learning platforms,and an overview of online Chinese teaching in three universities in Malang.The third chapter is the survey design for the online Chinese teaching situation of three universities in Malang,and statistical analysis of the survey results,mainly from the aspects of students,teachers,teaching materials,curriculum and teaching facilities,etc.The basic situation of online learning,the basic situation of teachers’ online teaching,the practicability and difficulty of teaching materials,the framework of curriculum and the satisfaction degree,etc.These are all investigated and analyzed in detail.Chapter 4 analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of online Chinese teaching in the three universities in Malang based on the survey results,and proposes corresponding development strategies based on what I have learned,such as strengthening local network construction and seeking the best suppliers cooperate,strengthen the cultivation of students’ self-learning ability and self-control,strengthen online education technology training for teachers;improve online Chinese teaching materials and curriculum settings,etc.The last is the conclusion. |
