| The construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the development of education has also entered a new period.Primary school stage is the most important basic stage in life.Under the background of the new era,primary school English teachers’ professional development is not only the inevitable requirement of the development of the times,but also the inevitable road of education development.In 2012,the Ministry of Education issued the professional standards for primary school teachers(Trial),which put forward clear,specific and referential requirements for primary school English teachers from different fields,dimensions and indicators.In order to fundamentally cultivate talents who can meet the requirements of the new era,we must start from the foundation,improve the quality of the English teachers in primary schools and constantly enhance the professional development level of primary school English teachers.This thesis takes 100 primary school English teachers from 7 schools in Luohu District of Shenzhen as the research object,and interviews 6 of them.The main research methods are literature research,questionnaire survey and interview.Based on the questionnaire and interviews,the author finds that in the new era,primary school English teachers in Luohu District of Shenzhen have some problems,such as low professional satisfaction,unreasonable structure of teachers,lack of high-quality vocational training,insufficient education and teaching ability,weak awareness of teaching research,weak awareness of teaching career planning and so on.For the causes of the above problems,the author analyzes them from three aspects:society,school and individual teachers.From the perspective of social factors,social role expectation,social value system,education policy and teacher education system affect primary school English teachers’ professional development;School factors are mainly reflected in school management,school atmosphere and teacher culture;From the perspective of individual teachers,the direct reasons for the slow professional development of primary school English teachers are that they are under great pressure,lack of awareness of professional development,lack of planning and ways of professional development,lack of in-depth teaching reflection,weak motivation for development,lack of professional guidance and expert guidance.Based on the problems and reasons revealed by the questionnaire survey,the author puts forward some suggestions for the strategies of primary school English teachers’ professional development in Shenzhen in the new era:on the social level,increase funding,reform the teacher education system and training mode,enhance the status of teachers,pay attention to the construction of teachers’ ethics,establish incentive mechanism,and improve the system of teachers’ professional development;At the school level,we should strengthen school management,create an atmosphere for teachers’ professional development,create an environment conducive to teachers’ self-study,improve teaching service facilities,play the role of teachers’ community culture,and promote teachers’ professional development;At the personal level of teachers,we should strengthen the awareness of self-development,form the concept of lifelong learning,actively participate in vocational training,strive to improve the level of education,introduce learning in daily teaching practice,grow into learning teachers,improve teachers’reflective ability,actively participate in subject research,and enhance the ability of scientific research and innovation. |
