| In 2021,China started a new journey to build a modern socialist country in an all-round way.As grass-roots cadres,township civil servants shoulder a series of important responsibilities such as rural revitalization.However,such practical problems as low salary,narrow promotion channel and heavy work task have led to the increasing psychological pressure of township civil servants,and the impact on work efficiency can not be ignored.In this study,317 valid questionnaires were collected through online and offline distribution of township civil servants.In the first study,the upward social comparison scale,self-concept clarity scale and self-rating anxiety scale were used as measuring tools to explore the relationship among upward social comparison,self-concept clarity and anxiety of township civil servants and the role of gender in it.Study 2 further explored the role of self-worth affirmation in enhancing self-concept clarity and reducing anxiety level on the basis of study 1.The results showed that:(1)The general anxiety level of township civil servants is higher than the national adult norm,and there are no significant differences in gender,age,education background,rank,marital status and working years.(2)The upward social comparison tendency of township civil servants is on the high side,and there is a significant difference in educational background.Township civil servants with master degree or above are more inclined to make upward social comparison.(3)The level of self-concept clarity of township civil servants is on the high side,and there are significant differences in gender,age,rank and working years.(4)There was a significant negative correlation between upward social comparison and self-concept clarity,and a significant positive correlation between upward social comparison and anxiety;Self-concept clarity was negatively correlated with anxiety.(5)The self-concept clarity of township civil servants played a mediating role between upward social comparison and anxiety,and the mediating effect accounted for 75.26%.(6)Gender plays a moderating role in the first half of the mediating effect model of"upward social comparison-self-concept clarity-anxiety" for township civil servants,and males are more susceptible to the influence of upward social comparison than females.(7)Self-worth can certainly alleviate the anxiety level of township civil servants and temporarily improve the level of self-concept clarity. |
