Calligraphy Study Of ShenZengzhi’s Residence In Shanghai

Shen Zengzhi(1850-1922),a native of Jiaxing,Zhejiang,is also a scholar,poet,and calligrapher.He is a typical calligrapher in the traditional Chinese sense.Throughout his calligraphy career,Shen Zengzhi made remarkable achievements in calligraphy during his residence in Shanghai(1911-1922).During his residence in Shanghai,he no longer regarded calligraphy as a mere affair.The stone rubbings are a furnace,and they become a family in the end.Future generations,without exception,used the best example of "the fusion of rubbings" to evaluate Shen Zengzhi’s calligraphy.In the early days of the Republic of China,Shanghai was the cultural center of China.At that time,Zheng Xiaoxu,Kang Youwei,and Wu Changshuo all lived here in their later years.They fortified each other and made their own achievements,and jointly developed and led the calligraphy style in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.The article clarifies the reason why Shen Zengzhi lived in Shanghai and the main calligraphy exchanges during his stay in Shanghai.Analyze the process of Shen Zengzhi’s calligraphy evolution,and discuss the reasons and the objects of the method.Finally,I summarized the influence of Shen Zengzhi’s calligraphy on his own calligraphy,combined with his own creation to analyze,and found a way forward for the establishment of his calligraphic concept and practice of calligraphy.
