Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, with the continuous development of society, our country has entered the decisive stage of building a well-off society in an all-round way,and people’s living standards have also improved. The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the strategic idea of "Healthy China".From the individual level to the national level, more and more attention is paid to medical and health issues.Media practitioners have gradually turned their attention to the field.A large number of TV dramas,TV programs, and documentaries related to medical themes have emerged, which has aroused people’s attention and discussion.Academia has also begun to conduct in-depth research on medical film and television works.Compared with other countries,China’s medical documentaries started late, but the output has increased sharply in recent years, and the social realities shown in a large number of works have become a hot topic of discussion. As an inevitable and important issue of social development, ethical issue is also presented from different angles in the creation of documentaries.Medical documentaries are currently popular documentaries. From the ethical issues in the creation of medical documentaries to the ethical issues encountered in social reality revealed by the content of medical documentaries, they are all aspects that cannot be ignored in the research of documentary films of this type. This article starts with Chinese medical documentary films, combines narrative ethics, medical ethics and other theories, uses literature research methods, pull film observation methods, and comparative analysis methods to use Life Matters,This Is Life,Chinese Doctors and other works as examples to explore the ethical issues of medical documentaries in China. This article is divided into seven chapters. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research background, research methods, and research significance of this article, and sorts out related monographs and journal articles of medical documentaries. The second part defines the related concepts of documentaries, medical documentaries and ethics, and at the same time expounds the related content of narrative ethics and medical ethics,so as to facilitate the following related research. The third part studies the origin, development and current situation of medical documentaries in my country, and compares them with medical documentaries in the United States,Britain,Japan and other countries. The fourth part starts with the ethics of documentary creation, and explores the ethical relationship between the documentary filmmaker, the subject, the audience and the work.Documentary filmmakers are the masters in the process of documentary creation.Their personal ethical boundaries, respect and protection of the subject, and the significance of the works created to the audience are all basic moral issues that need to be paid attention to in documentary filming. The fifth part starts from the perspective of narrative ethics, and analyzes the narrative perspective, narrative strategy and structural characteristics of domestically popular medical documentaries,as well as the deep meaning of this type of documentary in terms of audiovisual language for medical ethics and documentary creation ethics. The sixth part analyzes both the macro and micro levels, sorting out and analyzing the difficulties encountered in the current development of China’s medical documentaries. From the macro level, the development of my China’s medical documentaries is inseparable from national policies and social media.Support and guidance, perfecting the construction of laws and regulations, and broadening the dissemination channels are the only way for the development of medical documentaries. The seventh part is the summary and prospect part.Through the previous research, this article will improve the relevant theoretical research of medical documentaries to a certain extent.Through the introduction of narrative ethics, communication ethics, medical ethics and other professional knowledge,a more comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the ethical issues that may be encountered in medical documentaries, and fills in the lack of ethics related aspects in the research of medical documentaries. In terms of practice,it provides corresponding theoretical guidance for the creation of medical documentary films, and solves the ethical dilemmas encountered by creators in the creative process and the ethical problems that arise in the subsequent dissemination process.Through medical documentary films,it is likely to strengthen the understanding of each other between doctors and patients, reduce doctor-patient conflicts, ease the relationship between doctors and patients, and solve social problems. At the same time, there are still micro-level creation and dissemination issues in medical documentaries, such as topic selection and content homogeneity, balancing the relationship between ethics and truth, and confronting social issues and contradictions. From these perspectives,we put forward strategic suggestions on the development of medical documentaries in China, and improve the social value and ethical connotation of documentaries. This article starts with medical documentaries that have received much attention in China in recent years. And through the combination of theory and cases, this paper explores the ethical issues of current medical documentaries in China, hoping to help solve the ethical dilemmas faced by this type of documentaries, and provide valuable suggestions for its future development.
