Due to political reasons such as crimes, admonitions, and party disputes, more than140 officials in the Ming Dynasty were demoted to Guangxi. They came from 14 different provinces in the country and possessed a relatively high level of education.Among them, the three provinces of Nanzhili,Jiangxi and Zhejiang had the largest number of demotions.Throughout the Ming Dynasty, the Jianwen,Jingtai, and Tianshun dynasties was the highest frequency of demotion years; The censored officials are mainly distributed in the east of Guangxi, and they have a greater impact on this area.In the Ming Dynasty,Guangxi’s banished official group consciousness continued to increase, which made individuals possess group characteristics. The first characteristic is the development of group activities. The same relegation experience, the same or nearby relegation places are often easy to form small groups. They communicate with local celebrities, travel in the mountains, sing poetry, and find emotional resonance;the second is that they share common creative orientation, homesickness, love for the mountains and rivers, and memory of the sages are their favorite themes. The third is the change in the impression of Guangxi.Although they regarded Guangxi’s experience as a "descendence" and described Guangxi as "miasma" until the end of the Ming Dynasty, they believed that Guangxi was a paradise on earth with beautiful scenery. This reflects the deepening of outsiders’ understanding of Guangxi and the strengthening of their sense of national identity. It also reflects the continuous development of Guangxi’s economic and cultural level. The changes in group consciousness have affected the activities and behaviors of banished officials, and their activities and behaviors have had a profound impact on Guangxi. The construction of schools and lectures have promoted the development of education in Guangxi;the construction of the urban construction agency and the reform of misgovernment have ensured the protection and benefited the people of Guangxi;promoted ethnic equality, resolved ethnic conflicts, and promoted ethnic integration;explored new tourist attractions and increased scenic spots popularity adds cultural heritage to Guangxi’s tourism resources;their spirit of not being succumbed to power, daring to fight, and benefiting one party has also become part of Guangxi’s spiritual culture.
