The Path Of Suspense In Screenplay

Suspense is a narrative method that can not be ignored in screenplay creation.The success of suspense setting has a direct impact on the creation of screenplay.It determines the creativity and visibility of the script,and more directly affects whether the film can have sufficient power to attract the attention of the audience from the perspective of aesthetic psychology and expectation vision,so as to complete the value transmission function of the film itself.Through the collection and collation of data,it is found that in the field of suspense in the script,the academic and theoretical circles have systematically and scientifically expounded the suspense setting and the mechanism of suspense generation.At the moment of the prosperity and development of film and television,many works are inseparable from the application and exploration of suspense.Suspense has multiple functions,which can not only increase the attraction and visibility of the film,but also provide enough narrative thrust for the story,promote the plot development,assist in shaping characters,enhance the richness and artistic charm of the work,and stimulate the interest of the audience,This paper takes the path of suspense setting in screenplay as the argument to explain.This paper is divided into three parts,which are to create suspense by narrative,to set suspense by scenes and details,and to create suspense by characters.The first part analyzes the importance of narrative in script creation,and how to use narrative to create suspense.Combined with the practice of script creation,it explains the suspense setting from flashback and narration,repetitive narration.The second part discusses the setting of suspense from the perspective of the scene.Combined with script creation,on the one hand,it discusses how to set suspense from the dangerous information in the scene,on the other hand,it discusses the setting of suspense through the time factor,and then it discusses the setting of suspense from the perspective of details.The third part mainly discusses how to set suspense with the help of characters,that is,to shape the emotional identity of characters and strengthen the care of their fate,as well as to add auxiliary characters to set suspense.
