A Practical Report On Chinese-English Translation Of Tourism Landscape Introduction From The Perspective Of Skopostheorie

There are increasing number of tourists from home and abroad have stopped by China’s colorful and beautiful tourism scenery.As the mainstay of the tertiary industry,domestic tourism is playing an significant role for promoting the rapid development of economy.Skopostheorie claims to deal with translation problems from the perspective of practical purposes.It takes Skopos criteria as the first principle and emphasizes the principles of coherence and loyalty on the basis of Skopos criteria.Therefore,translators could choose specific translation methods or strategies for specific translation purposes.This paper aims to prove that Skopostheorie can provide theoretical guidance for the introduction of tourism landscape,and expounds that the English translation practice report of the introduction of tourism landscape plays an important role in promoting the outward expansion of China’s tourism industry.The translator’s comprehensive ability has been effectively improved from the translation practice.This paper selects 15 tourism landscape introduction texts from the book "the100 most beautiful places in China" as the translation object,and discusses it from the following five parts: Firstly,the description of the translation task,the background,content and significance of the task;Secondly,Translation theories and methods,including the origin and development of Skopostheorie and the matching degree between Skopostheorie and tourism landscape introduction;Thirdly,the description of the translation process,including the work what the author had done in the three stages of translation;Fourthly,the actual case and key point analysis were carried out under the guidance of the three principles of Skopostheorie,such as direct translation method,literal translation method,etc.Fifthly,the translation practice is summarized.Finally,it is concluded that Skopostheorie can guide the translation of tourism landscape introduction.Considering the characteristics of beautiful tourism texts and rich rhetoric,we can convert them from Chinese to English by means of provincial translation,additional translation and annotation.The purpose of translation can be summarized and translated to attract tourists.
