| "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning" is a collection of manuscript Sichuan dulcimer librettos collected by Yang Huai,consisting of 16 volumes with a total of 83 types of songs.This paper takes the 83 types of dulcimer songs as research objects,explores the source of dulcimer librettos,sorts out the relationship between the dulcimer songs and various song genres in Sichuan,depicts unique artistic characteristics of dulcimer from other genres songs with dulcimer librettos represented by the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning",and clarifies the secular literary significance represented by Sichuan dulcimer.This paper is mainly divided into four parts:The first part,the collector and edition.It can be seen from the collector Yang Huai’s semi-autobiographical work "Reminiscence of Che Fu" that the collector attaches great importance and pays attention to the dulcimer.Therefore,the sources of the librettos of the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning" are explored from:Ⅰ.life story,interpersonal relationships,and travels of the collector,and Ⅱ.the main body of dulcimer artists,and singings of the dulcimer librettos of the artists,etc.The second part,the content sources of the songs and singings of Qupai.This paper investigates the sources of the themes and contents of the songs of the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning",analyzes the relationship between the lyrics of the"Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning" and other genres of songs,analyzes the structures of the dulcimer librettos and characteristics of Qupai,and grasps the artistic features and stylistic characteristics of different singings.The third part,literal significance of the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning".In view of the investigation of the lengths,languages,singing methods,and venues of the Sichuan dulcimer librettos,it is determined that the audience of Sichuan dulcimer mainly consists of ordinary residents;in view of rich themes,numerous cited allusions,and elegant lyrics of the dulcimer librettos,the main body of creation is mainly literati.Due to the difference in class between the audience and the main body of creation of the dulcimer,solemnity,harmony,elegance,and popularity can be well integrated in the same song of the dulcimer.A compatibility of elegance and popularity is the artistic connotation of the Sichuan dulcimer’s development from one of fringe genres in Sichuan to one of representative arts in Sichuan,and is also the literary significance embodied by the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning".The fourth part,narrative of Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning.There are more than 300 types of Sichuan dulcimer songs,and there is a total of 83 types of songs in the"Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning",which has a large content,accounting for about a quarter of the existing dulcimer songs.Summarizing the contents,briefly describing the source,and comparing different texts are basic processes for grasping song information of the "Sichuan Dulcimer Original Tuning".The narrative part plays an important role for showing the unique significance of the dulcimer in the history of Sichuan musicology. |
