English reading is one of the main input forms of English learning,and plays an important role in the English Teaching of senior middle school.Improving students’ reading ability is one of the important goals of primary school English teaching,and also one of the important means to cultivate students’ comprehensive language ability.There are clear standards for the relevant courses in compulsory education stage in China.These standards stipulate that primary school students in China need to have reading habits when they finish their sixth grade study.The completion of such habits can be assisted by a series of teaching tools such as pictures,and reading habits are based on the intention group.But from the current situation,teachers in our country will still find many problems in reading teaching in the specific teaching process.At present,many teachers still use traditional reading teaching methods,such as grammar translation.The classroom that teachers adopt traditional teaching methods is boring for students,and students do not really participate in classroom activities.In view of this,some English teachers have begun to explore other reading teaching methods to help improve students’ reading ability and reading interest.One of the teaching methods is very popular,which is active in the relevant research of scholars at home and abroad.This teaching method is called task-based teaching method.The focus of this method is the learners themselves,which aims to train students to cultivate a kind of ability,that is,to make them achieve the task by using the corresponding target language.Based on this,the author takes task-based teaching as the foundation,and brings it into the classroom of senior middle school.In the specific English reading class,the author sets up a task-based teaching method which is most suitable for the actual situation of senior students in primary school.This paper discusses whether the task-based teaching model is effective in arousing the reading interest of senior primary school students? Can the task-based teaching method be used in the teaching of English reading for senior primary school students to improve their English reading performance?This study takes two homogeneous classes in Grade 6 of a rural primary school in Xinyang as the research object,among which class 6(1)is the experimental class and class 6(2)is the control class.The total number of people is 100.The specific methods adopted include literature research,questionnaire survey,experiment and interview.Then,the further analysis is carried out,and the practical research is conducted.Finally,the basic basis is obtained The results of the situation.First,the paper analyzes the pre-test reading results and reading interest questionnaires of the two classes by SPSS software,and finds that there is no significant difference between the two classes in English reading performance and English reading interest,which can be used as the research object.Secondly,the author applies task-based teaching method to carry out 18 weeks experiment in the English reading class of the experimental class,while the control class still adopts the traditional reading teaching method.Finally,the author also conducts a post-test of reading achievement and reading interest in two classes.After statistical analysis of the results and questionnaire data of the pre-reading test and questionnaire data by SPSS software,it is found that in the primary school English reading class,if the task-based teaching mode is used,the students in this class can not only cultivate more reading interest,but also accompany the reading interests of these students The improvement of the results.In combination with the above content,the research done by the author can prove the effectiveness of task-based teaching to some extent.It is hoped that this study can provide reference for the current primary school English reading teaching.
