Educational researchers have applied the theory of ecology to the field of education since the 20 th century,resulting in educational ecology.After years of research and discussion by scholars,the theory of educational ecology is constantly enriched,but there are still many practical problems to be solved.From the perspective of ecology,the ecological system of college English teaching changes from imbalance to balance through the continuous adjustment of various ecological factors.However,with the development of society,these ecological factors are affected breaking the balance of the original system.This study attempts to re-observe and study college English teaching from the perspective of educational ecology,selecting non-freshmen non-English majors undergraduates and English teachers of Northeast Petroleum University as subjects.First of all,it sorts out the current status of the ecological subjects and the ecological environment in the university’s college English teaching ecosystem by issuing questionnaires,conducting classroom observations and interviews to the survey subjects.Secondly,analyze the survey results based on the principles of education ecology to find out which main problems currently exist in the system.Finally,suggestions on how to improve these problems are put forward to optimize strategies,in order to promote the further improvement of the ecosystem.The research results show that: First,analyze the current status of the ecological subject and the ecological environment in the current college English teaching ecosystem based on the limiting factor law,the niche theory,the flowerpot effect,the law of tolerance and the principle of optimality in education ecology.It is found that there are some problems that need to be improved in some aspects of the system.Second,these problems include the need to strengthen the teaching staff,the low quality of students,the relatively rigid positioning of teachers and students,insufficient external support,limited classroom conditions,limited teaching materials,curriculum systems to be supplemented,and student evaluation systems to be improved.Third,this research puts forward corresponding strategies for these problems to promote the perfection of the college English teaching ecosystem.Due to the limitations in the selection of survey samples and the high complexity of college English teaching itself,the strategy suggestions proposed in this article cannot completely solve all the problems in college English teaching,but it is still expected that it can fill the university to a certain extent.The study of English teaching provides reference for the follow-up research of others. |
