| Partings,one of the common polite expressions,are widely used in daily life Foreign students often encounter some problems when using partings in communication.If these problems are not handled properly,they will lead to misunderstanding and even conflicts.Therefore,this is the top priority in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in terms of how to solve these problems and how to avoid problems when foreign students use partings.Firstly,the author,based on previous studies,summarizes the definition of partings and classifies them.In this paper,the farewell word is divided into three categories,which are direct,indirect and compound,among which the indirect farewell is further divided into 10 sub-categories.These ten sub-categories include cause,charge,thanks,apologies,wishes,suggestions,consolation,aftertaste,greetings and politeness.Secondly,as foreign students often have problems when using partings,this paper separately investigates the distribution of partings in the three sets of oral Chinese teaching materials and the use of partings by foreign students.The results of the survey show that there are some problems in the teaching materials of spoken Chinese as a foreign language,such as lack of communicative practice of partings,unsystematic and unconnected arrangement of content,and lack of corresponding cultural explanation.Moreover,it is found that foreign students have excessive use of direct partings through the investigation of the use of partings by foreign students.However,with the improvement of students’ Chinese proficiency,the overuse of direct partings becomes less and less.Besides that,it is also found that international students are not sensitive to social power relations and do not understand special types of indirect partings.This is mainly affected by the foreign students’ native language culture and personal language ability,but teachers’ lack of necessary guidance for farewell language learning is also one of the reasons for these problems.Finally,the author focuses on teaching and puts forward feasible suggestions on the teaching of partings in TCSL from the perspectives of teachers,students and textbooks,in an effort to enable students to master partings and improve their personal communicative competence. |
