| Popular science text is a branch of science and technology text, which aims to popularize scientific knowledge to the public in easy-to-understand language, and has a huge effect on improving people’s scientific literacy. However,in the translation of popular science texts, there are still problems such as inaccurate terminology and limited cognitive level of the translators, which seriously affect the quality of the translation. At present, there are few experimental studies on the above problems. This thesis is an experimental report on the impact of knowledge graphs on translators. The author selected postgraduate students majoring in English translation as the experimental objects.Through the comparison of translation texts, the recording of translation behaviors, and questionnaires, the author mainly studied the correlation between the knowledge graphs and the realization of the translator’s cognition and the improvement of the quality of the translation, hoping to provide some useful experience to improve the quality of translation of popular science text. The experimental results show that, first, with the aid of the knowledge graphs, the translators can better understand the neurodevelopmental process in the brain and related scientific terms, and have a deeper understanding of the relationship between term entities;second, with the aid of the knowledge graphs, taking into account the three aspects of scientific, literary, and popular, the translator’s performance is better;third, the knowledge graphs can fully display knowledge, effectively improve the translator’s cognitive level, and update the translator’s knowledge structure and knowledge system;fourth, translators have different cognitive structure foundations, and the concept of knowledge graph construction is also diverse,in future research, different strategies can be flexibly adopted to make the experimental data more accurate and the experimental dimension more comprehensive. |
