Study On The Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)in Southern Song Dynast

The southern song dynasty period.The gannan’s turmoil from accidental,not ruled by crisis,has became a large radiation range affected or even critical dynasty peasant uprising.This situation factors,are the local folk customs,and government policies,inappropriate behavior of the Zhizhou(Zhijun),and other officials,etc.The root cause of the conflict between local and central government lies in the central government’s strengthening of local rule.In the face of this situation,Most magistrates,as the top managers in Gannan,have tenure less than two years and are transferred frequently.Moreover,they are mostly former officials with rich governance experience and strong ability to counteract chaos,or officials whose native places are similar to Gannan.Their local governance was correspondingly focused on maintaining stability and pacifying chaos.In order to stabilize the local society and consolidate the rule,the Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)in the Southern Song Dynasty suppressed the rebellion by force.Although they achieved some results,they could only use the Zhaoxiang in the end.This has led to an insurgency that cannot be completely ended.Therefore,the Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)also tried to stabilize the society by means of education,tax reduction,strengthening personal management and cooperating with local forces.Comparing them with Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)in the Northern Song Dynasty,we can see the obvious difference.In the Northern Song Dynasty,the Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)stabilized the local society mainly by education and supplemented by force.In the aspect of local governance,Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)in the Southern Song Dynasty inherited their practices and thoughts,and also had different ones.They also focused on cooperating with local forces,but they did so much more closely and deeply and that’s why the rebellion in southern Gannan during the Southern Song was less and less of a problem.Although rebellions existed all the time,in the middle and late Southern Song Dynasty,there were almost no large-scale rebellions except the Chen Sanqiang Rebellion.Moreover,the activity space of the thieves selling illicit salt was also limited to the border areas,and could not go further into the central area of Gannan.Therefore,to a certain extent,the local governance of Gannan Zhizhou(Zhijun)in the Southern Song Dynasty achieved the established goal.
