Study On Song Lian’s Biographies

China’s biographical literature has a long history and shows different prosperity in different times.As an important writer and thinker at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty,Song Lian made outstanding achievements in prose creation,especially in biographies.Based on the in-depth study of the representative style of Song Lian’s biography in his prose,this paper aims to explore the distinctive characteristics and far-reaching influence of his biography.This paper tries to solve the following three problems:1.The writing object of Song Lian’s biography;2.The creation characteristics of Song Lian’s biographies;3.The comparative study of Song Lian’s biographies.The first chapter introduces Song Lian and his works,mainly analyzes the writing object of Song Lian’s biography.This paper divides the biographies written by Song Lian into five categories:official,commoner,recluse,lady and himself.Then makes a detailed investigation on the origin of various biographies,the inheritance and variation of predecessors.In this process,the author analyzes the writing motivation and ideological tendency of Song Lian’s biographies from the specific text analysis.The introduction firstly defines the connotation of "biography",and then combs the development course of biography.Secondly,it summarizes the research status of Song Lian’s biographies from the aspects of artistic characteristics,contribution,biographical language,character image,stylistic features and humanistic spirit.The first chapter introduces Song Lian and his works,mainly analyzes the writing object of Song Lian’s biography.This paper divides the biographies of Song Lian into five categories:official,commoner,recluse,faun and himself,and then makes a detailed investigation on the origin of various biographies,the inheritance and variation of predecessors.In this process,the author analyzes the writing motivation and ideological tendency of Song Lian’s biographies from the specific text analysisThe second chapter is the analysis of the characteristics of Song Lian’s biography.Firstly,in view of Song Lian’s status as a historian,this paper discusses Song Lian’s writing attitude of seeking truth in his biographies,based on his repeated emphasis on his contacts with the subject.Secondly,from the basic model of Song Lian’s biography,Song Lian inherited many of his predecessors,but also actively flexible,there are many variants,all of which reflect the flexible and changeable writing method of Song Lian’s biography.Thirdly,it analyzes the types of "combined biographies" and "family biographies" in Song Lian’s biographies."Combined biographies" in a single biography but cover many people,and the narrative is complete."Family biographies" also takes on the characteristics of covering dozens of generations of the family,not advocating good and not concealing evil.Fourthly,To study the style of "praising" at the end of Song Lian’s biography.This integrated style borrowed from Sima Qian’s "The Grand Historian remarks" writing method,but it has its own breakthrough.Its content is not limited to the evaluation of the author,but also played a wide range of roles such as praise or allegory of the author and making up for the legacy of history.All these can reflect the writing style of Song Lian’s biography,which has its own unique charm.The third chapter is a comparative study of Song Lian’s biography.First,Song Lian was the president of History of Yuan Dynasty,this paper analyzes the works of the co-biographies of his History of Yuan Dynasty and the diffuse biographies,from which it can be seen that the similarities between the two biographies lie in their consistent authenticity,but the differences in content and writing methods reflect Song Lian’s different ideological tendencies.Second,taking Biography of Wang Mian as an example,this paper analyzes the different ideological tendencies and personal demands of Song Lian,Xu Xian,Qian Qianyi and Zhu Yizun in their scattered works,so as to explore the inheritance and development relationship among the scattered biographies of various literati.
