The theory of multimodal discourse analysis developed rapidly in the mid-1990 s and began to be further studied in different fields.At the end of last century,the theoretical research of multimodal discourse analysis theory in language teaching has developed rapidly.Some scholars have proposed multimodal teaching,that is,using a variety of symbolic modes,such as language,pictures,text,etc.to mobilize students’ multiple senses to participate in learning.Chinese teaching is actually this kind of multimodal teaching.This study introduces the theoretical research of multimodal discourse analysis into a relatively new field of Chinese teaching,namely online Chinese live-streaming teaching.Online live teaching has always existed,but the emergence of the epidemic in2020 promoted the rapid development of online live teaching,and it has become a common teaching mode.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the two theoretical bases supporting this thesis and clarifies the two basic concepts,namely the theory of multimodal discourse analysis and the theoretical framework of Zhang Delu’s multimodal discourse analysis.The second chapter is the study of online intermediate Chinese live broadcast class.On the one hand,the multi-modal discourse analysis software ELAN6.0 is used and classify the different modes in the online intermediate Chinese live broadcast class of the Chinese Union.On the other hand,according to Zhang Delu’s foreign language teaching genre structure,the online intermediate Chinese live broadcast class is observed and summarized.Chapter three is the analysis of the research results in Chapter two.Through the statistical results of the ELAN6.0 and the split analysis of the classroom teaching genre,the modal usage and modal coordination in the online Chinese live broadcast class are obtained.It is suggested that online live teaching should be selected,coordinated and coordinated with specific teaching contents.In the fourth chapter,according to the research findings and the multimodal teaching design principles of Zhang Delu,the teaching practice,teaching effect feedback and teaching reflection of multimodal online Chinese live class are carried out,and some teaching suggestions on the use of mode in class are put forward based on the practice.The last chapter summarizes the experience of research and practice,summarizes the advantages and limitations of multimodal online Chinese live teaching mode,hoping to provide some useful reference and feasible suggestions for multimodal online Chinese live teaching.
