| With the advancement of new curriculum reform,English teaching-research activity plays an increasingly important role in the implementation of curriculum.English teachingresearch activity is one of the most important methods to improve teaching quality and teachers’ professional development,which can help English teachers to solve many practical problems in teaching practices.In order to effectively understand the current situation of English teaching-research activity in junior high schools,the author investigated 95 English teachers from seven junior high schools in Yulin City.In addition,the author interviewed six representative junior high school English teachers.Besides,the author observed eight groups English teaching-research activity.This ideas aims to answer the following questions:1.What is the the English teachers’ perception of teaching-research activity in junior high school in Yulin?2.What are the behaviors of English teachers in teaching-research activity?3.What are the factors that influence English teachers in teaching-research activity?The conclusion are as follows:1.From the questionnaire analysis: the perception of junior high school English teachers is relative positive.The results show that 74.73% of English teachers hold a positive attitude towards teaching-research activity,and 80% of teachers think it is necessary to participate in English teaching-research activity.However,they are not satisfied with the current English teaching-research activity.Besides,the types of English teaching-research activity is signal.Although there are various types of English teaching-research activity,the type of classroom observation and evaluation is used most frequently.2.From the observation of English teaching-research activity: While participating in English teaching-research activity,junior high school English teachers are generally not enthusiastic and lack in-depth discussions.Their cognition,emotions,and participation behavior have not been effectively integrated,which reduces the effectiveness of English teaching-research activity.3.According to the questionnaire analysis and the collation of the interview data,the influencing factors of junior high school English teaching-research activity can be mainly divided into two perspectives.The subjective perspective pertains to junior high school English teachers’ personal professional knowledge and the quality of English teachers’ reflection.The objective perspective includes lack of the guidance from expertise and cooperation among colleagues and opportunity to go out to learn.Besides,teachers’ heavy workload,limited resources and information blockade,theory breaking away from practice,unreasonable management of school leaders and evaluation method also make effects on the English teaching-research activity.Considering the influencing factors of junior high school English teaching-research activity and combing with related literature,the author proposes suggestions respectively for the department of government and education,school leaders and English teachers to(re)construct junior high school English teaching-research activity.The suggestions are as following:1.The department of government and education should formulate clear and reasonable English teaching-research institution and enrich the form of English teaching-research activity.2.School leaders should distribute teachers’ workload reasonably and pay attention to the English teaching-research activity.3.English teachers should improve the research ability and persist self-reflection as well as make a long-term career plan.Through this thesis,the author hopes to help English teachers implement teachingresearch activity effectively,and meanwhile,improve the current situation of English teaching-research activity in junior high schools in Yulin City. |
