Study On The Translation Of Animal Images In Shtukin’s Russian Version Of The Book Of Songs Based On Functional Equivalence Theory

The Book of Songs is the earliest collection of poems in my country.It is called“the encyclopedia of ancient Chinese social life”.There are many cultural images in The Book of Songs.Animal images with rich cultural connotations are one of the most important images in The Book of Songs.The translation of animal image is also the key and difficult point in the translation of The Book of Songs.Based on functional equivalence theory,this thesis selects the complete version of Russian translation for The Book of Songs by Shtukin in the Soviet period,summarizes the translation methods of animal images,analyzes the translation effects of animal images,and tries to propose some optimal translation programs for animal images.This thesis is divided into four chapters.Chapter One introduces the research background and significance of the thesis,sorts out the research status and development trends at home and abroad;defines the research objects and research content;The second chapter briefly describes the definition of image concepts at home and abroad;explains the theory of functional equivalence,including the translation principles of functional equivalence theory,its role and significance in poetry translation;The third chapter first elaborates the symbolic meanings of animals expressing emotions,sorrows and joys,expressing congratulations and praises,alleging social criticism,and conveying political advice in The Book of Songs.Second,it focuses on the literal translation,substitution,free translation and compound translation methods of animal images;The fourth chapter summarizes and analyzes the effects of translation of animal images based on the theory of functional equivalence,including “images” and “meaning” similar to the original poems,the“image” is imprecise,and the “meanings” are similar to the original poems,the“image” is similar to the original poems,and “meaning” imprecise,“image” and“meaning” imprecise,then tries to suggest some optimized methods for translating animal imagery.The research results of this study will enrich and deepen the research on the imagery translation of The Book of Songs,and provide inspiration and reference for the practice of poetic image translation;it can help the target readers to correctly understand the content of The Book of Songs and the traditional Chinese culture contained in it;at the same time,it will be used for Russian and Russian literature,culture and translation teaching have certain reference significance.
