At the end of the 19 th century, the jewish diaspora around the world, inspired by Zionism, came to Palestine through the aliyah movement, hoping to establish their own state.Through the unremitting efforts of the jewish people, tel aviv was founded in 1909,gained autonomy in 1921,and officially became an independent city in 1934.From the former vassal of the ancient city of jaffa to the economic and cultural center of Israel,it has developed into the largest city in Israel despite the influence of geography, politics, culture and social trends. Therefore, its development history, social concept and urban planning are worth studying.Tel Aviv is the largest and most populous city in Israel, with a history of only 110 years. Its success can not be separated from the careful planning of the urban Committee at the beginning of the city construction, but the planning policies in different periods are also different.Around the urban planning, according to the construction scale, planning policy, program, historical factors and other aspects,in this paper, the urban development of Tel Aviv is divided into four parts, which are described in three periods. The first part introduces the reasons why Tel aviv chooses to be established near Yaffa, and analyzes the background of tel aviv from three aspects: the influence of Zionism and aliyah movement, the promote of the ancient city of jaffa, building a nation with agriculture and upgrading of industrial structure. The second part introduces the early urban planning and construction process of Tel Aviv in 1909-1921.At this time,Tel Aviv has not yet obtained autonomy from Yaffa, and the urban construction is still in the embryonic stage. But through the prior urban planning, the balance between the existing blocks and urban space has been broken, showing the determination to break away from Yaffa. The third part introduces the construction of Tel Aviv from 1921 to 1948.Tel Aviv is in the period of rapid development of urban planning. This period is the most important stage in the history of Tel Aviv’s urban construction.Tel Aviv has gained urban independence. The Geddes plans to put Tel Aviv’s urban construction on the right track, promote urban independence, and the adoption of modernist architecture turned Tel Aviv into a modern Jewish city The use of modernist style buildings has turned Tel Aviv into a city with Jewish characteristics. The Jews took this opportunity to build Tel Aviv into a modern city. The fourth part introduces the urban planning and industrial upgrading of Tel Aviv after the founding of Israel in 1948.After the annexation of Yafa by Tel Aviv in 1950,a large number of people poured in.Tel Aviv did not make a reasonable plan, and there were many problems in urban development.Urban managers actively seek solutions, use reasonable planning to solve urban problems, and promote urban transformation. At the same time, the city actively protects the old urban area, excavates the historical value of the city, constructs the city myth, molds the national spirit, increases the national identity, and successfully listed in the world heritage city list.To sum up,based on the extensive collection of data, collation of data and literature review, the author systematically combs the construction characteristics of Tel Aviv in different periods and introduces the urban planning process of Tel Aviv in detail around the urban planning, combined with historical, geographical, political, social ideological and other factors.
