The Study On The Social Life Of Yangzhou City In Tang Dynasty

Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty,as a famous ancient city in China,has been concerned and studied by many scholars.Due to various reasons,Yangzhou became one of the most influential cities in the Tang Dynasty."Yang Yi Yi Er" was used to describe the important position of Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty.Through the study of Yangzhou City in Tang Dynasty,we find that the development and prosperity of the city are traceable.The macro social life of Yangzhou can be shown through the micro material culture and spiritual culture.We can also see some internal reasons behind the brilliant city of Yangzhou.This paper consists of five parts: the first part is the "Introduction" of this paper,which mainly expounds the purpose and significance of this topic,the definition of related concepts,the research overview of domestic and foreign scholars on related content,as well as the main research ideas and innovation and shortcomings.The second part introduces the geographical location and development of Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty,and explores the primary reason for the prosperity of Yangzhou City by analyzing the changes of Yangzhou topography and geography and the development and transformation of the city system.The third part highlights the dominant characteristics of Yangzhou’s urban life through the development of Yangzhou’s clothing,diet,living conditions and transportation,so as to reveal the material civilization of Yangzhou’s social life.The fourth part introduces the spiritual and cultural life of Yangzhou City,and summarizes the life style of Yangzhou city through travel,festival celebration,religious activities and other social activities.The sixth part is through the analysis and comparison of the development characteristics of Yangzhou’s social life in different stages of the Tang Dynasty,obtains the reasons for the prosperity and decline of Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty,and tries to put forward the interpretation of the development of ancient Chinese cities.
